My heart has been broken since hearing that my beautiful red headed college roommate is gone. Wonderful memories of her as a young woman keep swirling through my mind. She was a fun loving elf that always kept a dead pan look that belied the mirth in her heart.
She loved a good joke and wasn't above playing a good natured joke on any one. She loved her sleep and it was almost impossible to awaken her many mornings. She would get so angry with me for not getting...

When I heard of your mother's passing, a million memories came flooding into my mind. Her sense of time and place let her be everyones good friend. I grew up with Barb in Dover. She was quick to point out to me that I did not always have to be the life of the party to be liked. That gave me the freedom to be me around her. We laughed a lot and cried, a little.

When I was in your mother's presence, she gave me her full attention. Over the years we sort of drifted apart. Geography, Job...

Eric, Katie and Krista,
There are those people who's life and faith is so full it spills out onto others as they go through this life. At times these individuals and those closest to them suffer along the way. (Jesus and his family and friends knew a lot about this.)
Having had a shared faith community experience with Barb and her family has been a gift to my life and my own family that the fruits of which are still unfolding.
Barb you are clearly with God and may you rest...

Your mom was a most generous and welcoming individual, a fabulous hostess and one of the warmest people I have known. She always wore a smile, and could always find a positive solution to any situation. One of the many fun times was her hosting the annual St. Patrick's Day party at her home. Our birthdays are only a few days apart, so every year we had dinner together and imposed ourselves on some unsuspecting Mass Group members. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Know that your mother is always watching over you now and that her pain has ended. I will always remember her smiling face welcoming the UNH crew into her home for a home-cooked meal--a much needed break from campus life. I also think of her every apple picking season!
