He was our line coach at Taft and an oversized personality. We will miss him

Barclay taught me how to write. First paper of my PG experience was on King Lear. He gave me a D- and said he could tell that I had read the play. He then took my paper, marked it up with a red pen, showed me what I could have done and had me rewrite it. Upgraded to a C. Many papers later before Christmas break I turned in a Clockwork Orange paper and received an A-. Steady progression up the grade ladder with Barclay advising and critiquing all the way. Mr Johnson was my favorite teacher at Taft. I will have many fond memories of sitting in his office (which always smelled of pipe tobacco) and having very animated conversations. He always made me feel that he was truly in my corner. My condolences to the family.
