Barclay "Skip" Roberts

Browsing though the Sunday obituary, I saw Barclay "Skip" Roberts. I only knew one Barclay, one Skipper, one Cappy and a face resembling Francis. At that moment tears formed in my eyes. Warm memories of Francis and Barclay, close dear friends of my parents, Skip and Cappy were like my big brothers. Skip was always up-beat, and very quick witted. These are special childhood memories sixty five plus
years past, but they live on in my mind and heart.

What a joy, as ever, to see Skip's smiling face. And, what fun to have traveled with him and Carol. Those he met, near and far, have been enlivened by his exuberance!

My parents, Dan and Celia Campbell, were friends of Skip's parents, Barclay and Francis Roberts. I remember them from growing up across from St. Rose and stories of Barclay and Francis visiting at our Rockaway beach house. Always remember that handsome Skip, in brother Ed's class at St. Rose.
