Barney was one of the "good guys". He was humble while at the same time he could fill a room with his smile and his wit. I will forever miss his warm voice on the other end of the telephone with his customary greeting of "How are ya?". Keep hitting them right down the middle buddy.

I greatly enjoyed getting to know Barney professionally and as a friend over the years. We enjoyed many rounds of golf and meals together. He had the kindest of hearts and made the world a much better place. Daniel Blank

Barnie was a dear friend who took great pride in being an active hard working member and officer of the U.S. the Coast Guard Auxillary . He will be remembered by his numerous projects for the Auxilary, which included boating education, vessel inspection and aircraft air observer. He was a dear friend who I will greatly miss, His memory will serve as an inspiration to others.

Barney, we all at the Chicago Air Flotilla will miss you. Thank you for your service.

It was my pleasure to have known Barney through the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We flew several missions together and enjoyed fellowship at Auxiliary events. He was a warm and fun person to be around. The world is sadder with his passing but a better place for having known him.

I was one of any people that had the great pleasure to know Barney. I met him in the USCG Aux and was immensely impressed his good nature, dedication and humor. He was always a pleasure to be around and he will be missed.
