Not sure what to say?

Apologies as I am just seeing Barney´s obituary 4 years later. Barney was very good to me as a high schooler in Griffin, GA while he worked at WKEU. He was a kind man and smart and funny. He told me the best story about never reaching out to Bob Costas. I helped Barney move from Griffin to Vidalia, helping him strap in his belongings to a Uhaul from the Willow Creek apartments. I am sorry to hear just now of his passing. God Bless Barney Bonfield.

I worked with Barney at WCOV TV. He was a nice guy and dry wit.

I was shocked to read about Barney's passing. We worked together back in 1985 in Montgomery. He was a nice guy

Barbara, we are so saddened to hear of your loss. I always remember Barney growing up as being the nicest person. We are sending healing prayers and comfort to you during this saddened time. With deepest sympathy and love, Deena & Sadie Ruben

Barney always supported me in all my activities including swim, cheer, track and softball. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and he was very special to my mom, dad and myself.
We will always remember Barney and what a truly wonderful and unique...

It's a great loss for Toombs County Georgia with the passing of Barney, I can't think of anyone who didn't like him. He was truly a unique individual who cared about all people especially our younger generation he was the best. My heart goes out to his family our loss is heavens gain.

I met Barney at WKEU radio in Griffin, Ga. It was my first job out of college and Barney had moved to Griffin, GA, to be the morning show host and high school play-by-play announcer. That was news to me since I was hired to do news and be the high school play-by-play announcer. Needless to say, I didn't stay long in Georgia or at WKEU, but what did stay in place was our friendship. Barney and I stayed connected these last 32 years because we looked at the world through the same lens, only...

When we first heard about Barney, it was like we had lost a brother. He truly made our lives a lot happier with all of his cutting up. He always knew how to make something funny when you might have thought it wasn't. Everytime we hear a song or watch the Braves or Alabama Crimson Tide,we will think of Barney. He was the greatest.
