Jean and family, I too knew Barry during his high school years, although I went to Headland High in East Point. He was quite the comedian and kept the gang at the McHan's laughing all the time. During our early adult years, we shared a similar problem and talked about it in later years, both of us coming out a-okay. I was most pleased when I ran into him at the car auction in the early 2000's. Same ole Barry, same hair, same smile, same wit. Only a more mature caring man, with a great love for his family and his Savior Jesus Christ. Y'all are left with the best memories of a great husband, father, son, brother, friend, etc. May Barry R.I.P. till we all meet again.

We are so sorry,Barry is gone ,but he's praising the Lord right now!!! I'm sure!!! Love to all--- Vernon and Virginia Iddins

I'm just hearing about your loss. Just know that I think about all of you and will keep you in my prayers. Barry was a wonderful person, even in high school. From what I'm reading, he has carried his wonderful traits with him throughout the years. It pleases me to know he is safely in his Father's arms, no more pain, no more suffering.

Jean, Todd and Dana-
I knew Barry personally and professionally for the past 15 years, and he was always a pleasure to be around. Though I spoke with him a few months ago, as usual he said he was doing fine and didn't even mention his illness, and I was not aware of it until last week. I saw him and Todd briefly at a business breakfast in January and noticed that he appeared to have aged since I had seen him last, but he was friendly as always and I didn't realize the battle he was going through. I can't believe he is gone, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Barry was a true friend with whom I spent many hours reminiscing about "the good ole days". The Faith that I embrace affirms we'll have a chance to continue the conversation.

Dear Jean and Family,
We were so sadden to learn of Barry's illness and death. He was such a great man and we were blessed to have known him. He made such an impact on our family while he and Chris worked together at Ed Voyles and then after. His loyalty to his faith has always shined and was largely responsible for Chris finding his way back to the Lord. Barry will be missed greatly. You and your family are in our prayers while Barry is being accepted into the arms of our Father.
In His Name,
Chris, Cindy, Lee, and Georgia Simson

My brothers and I were neighborhood/childhood friends with Barry and his sister and brother. We attended Harrison Road Baptist Church and I am so saddened to learn of your loss. I have stood where you stand, Jean, having lost my husband a few years ago. I am so encouraged for you in that you have our Lord, Jesus, on your side to comfort you and give you peace. What beautiful words from all the entries in this guestbook; I am excited to know that Barry is with our Lord and we will see him again one day. My prayers are with you, your children, and Barry's Mother, Sister, and Brother.
In Christian Love,

Jean,
Jim and I are very sorry to hear about Barry's passing. We had just seen the two of you a couple of months ago at Emory. Jim was diagnosed in May 2005 and we both thought the long journey & struggle was just beginning with one of you and your family. We did not have a chance to say hello because you were directed in the admission's office as we were rushing to Jim's appointment. We looked for you each time we went to Emory. It was a shock when I read about him in the MDJ. It's been a long time since our boys played Little League together. Our prayers are with you, Todd & Dana.

To the Family
How sad to hear of Barry's passing. My parents and Barry's were friends - my dad having grown up with Evie Lee and Billy. We took many trips to the mountains as families when we were all so young. I'll always remember Barry because of his tremendous amount of freckles! His obit was a wonderful tribute to him and his entire family!
