Not sure what to say?

We were so sad to hear the news of Barry´s passing. We will always cherish the three month vacation we had getting to know you both here in Kailua. So much laughter and good times...we love you Thea and will miss Barry forever.

Dearest Thea, Barry, my very best childhood friend will always remain in my heart and soul. Out of sight but never ever out mind all through these years, even recently thinking of you both. I loved Barry and always did and always will. He was so kind to me starting in kintergarden and well into college days, even rooming together at UM. I remember when he changed his major from music to psychology and what a Powerhouse he went on to be in the profession. I grew up knowing his...

I am saddened to hear of Barry's passing. Barry Fish was part of the team that hired me at EMU in 1999. I have many fond memories working alongside Barry for my first years at EMU - we were even neighbors for a time. He was a very supportive colleague and I enjoyed working with him.

I was saddened to learn of the death of Barry. He and I worked together for a number of years at EMU as deans of our respective colleges. As we each represented our constituencies, we sometimes had differences of opinion. What I admired much about Barry was that we could ALWAYS discuss and resolve these matters in a cordial, friendly, mutually supportive, and give-and-take manner. He was a wonderful colleague for whom I had much respect.

Barry was a spark, igniting many of us who crossed his path or the hallways and walkways at EMU to do better, be better and dream. As a young faculty member, Barry as the Dean was accessible, witty and warm. He was a personal advocate for me and I am forever grateful. Love to Thea.... With warmth, Decky

It is with deep sorrow that I acknowledge the passing of Barry Fish, a noted academic and administrator, who left us peacefully at the age of 79. Barry dedicated his life to education, inspiring countless students and colleagues with his passion for knowledge and unwavering commitment to excellence. His remarkable contributions to the academic community will be remembered, but it is his warmth, kindness, and genuine friendship that will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Barry had an...

I don't know what surprised me more -- being invited 30 years ago to have lunch as a new EMU faculty member with the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, or discovering that Dean Fish was a down-to-earth administrator who demonstrated genuine interest in me as a new faculty member. I place Barry Fish among those, like my own father, who have influenced my development as an administrator at Eastern Michigan University.

Thea, My deepest sympathies to you and your beautiful family. Barry was a true gem.

I loved Barry. He was smart, kind, and had a great sense of humor. We had great fun and felt bonded for life when the ten of us ran the 24 hour relay over 40 years ago. He lived his family. I will miss him. Condolences.
