Barry McClure was a high school classmate, an incredible athlete, and an American hero at an early age. He was among the handful of Black students who were the first pioneers to desegregate the high school I attended in the early 60s. I remember him as a gentle spirt, a kind soul & a great example during a time when kindness was probably not at the top of everyone's agenda.
His death reminds me that we walk among truly heroic people and that many times we only see them as we see...
