Lake Cumberland Funeral Home - Somerset Obituary

Barry Evan McMillen, age 61, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 08, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.


Barry was born on March 12, 1960 to Charles C. McMillen and the late Maxie Hamilton McMillen.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked in grounds maintenance for Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  He loved deer hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing.  Barry enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motorcycles in his younger years.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. 


He is survived by one daughter, Jenna Ann (and Jeff) Woelfer of New Carlise, OH; his father, Charles C. McMillen of Nancy; one sister, Patricia (and Ron) Mirrell of Shelbyville, KY; and two grandchildren, Alexis Grace Woelfer and Julianna Rose Woelfer.


Along with his mother, Maxie Hamilton McMillen, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bradley McMillen; paternal grandparents, Noonen McMillen and Margareet Gibson; and his maternal grandparents, Ira and Gladys Hamilton.


Visitation will be on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.


His funeral service will follow on Friday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Mounce officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the American Kidney Foundation or American Cancer Society.  Any out of town donations may be mailed to Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1441, Somerset, KY 42502.
