Not sure what to say?

Barry, so often I've thought of you since you retired from Perry. I was not so far into my teaching career then so I was much closer to the "bottom of the scale". I remember, and still get a chuckle about the time I was given your paycheck by mistake and tearing it open without paying attention to whose check it was. After all, it's the one that Betty handed to me so it must be mine right? Wrong! It had to be someone else's. This was clear to see by anyone that witnessed my head jerk back and...

Mr. Phillips was my teacher in high school. I joined the Air Force upon graduation and I will always appreciate his encouragement. I have thought of him often. May he rest in peace and I am sending my condolences to his family.

Sister Pat and Family,
On behalf of St Canice High School Class on 1968, I offer our deepest sympathies on the passing of your brother. May your memories provide you comfort. May he rest in peace and may Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Semper Fi Marine. Thank you for your service.

My Condolences to Mr. Phillips family and loved ones. He was just a wonderful man. I was fortunate to have him as homeroom teacher and as a social studies teacher in the 9th grade. During that year my older sister's fiancé, a Marine, was killed in Vietnam. I was broken hearted and your father stepped in and helped me thru that. I didn't realize that he was also a Marine. He always was so genuine and kind person. I know that he is in Heaven with God the Father.

So sad to learn of Barry's passing. He was a wonderful friend to my dad, and helped him with great kindness! I finally got to meet him in perso when my dad passed, and we kept in touch at Christmas time. May he Rest In Peace. Prayers of comfort to his family.

My Deepest Sympathy to the Phillips Family. I was fortunate to have Mr. Phillips as a teacher while at Perry High School in 1967. He was a great teacher and mentor to myself and many students. May he rest in peace.

Deepest condolences to the Phillips family. Mr. Phillips was my teacher and coach at Perry. He was a credit to his profession and he was an inspiration and mentor to any of the students that were fortunate enough to be taught by him. After graduation our paths would cross at hockey games or other sporting events. Always a pleasure to be in his company. He will be missed.

Perry High School, 1974

Barry was a good man, best of the best. I first met Barry as a student at Perry High School in the early 70's. I found myself being put out of Perry due to where I lived. Barry intervened. He told me the right things to say and who to call. He even took me to a phone that was unavailable to students. My problem was quickly resolved and I graduated from Perry.
I returned 15 years later, now a teacher. Barry was the first one to seek me out and welcome me to the faculty.
Barry was a very...
