On behalf of my mother and myself, I would like to send a heartfelt "thank you" to all who attended the services of my father, and have responded with your very kind entries into the Guest Book. We know that my father had a long line of devoted friends. Indeed, he will be missed by many (many more than he realized), but he leaves us all with many fond memories. And a very special thank you to the many who helped us throughout his protracted illness. We could not have managed without you.

The Phlegar Family,
I worked with Barry at WRAL-TV as a green kid in the late sixties and seventies. As I have matured in the television industry I have come to appreciate more and more Barry's comsumate professionalism and leadership abilities.
Barry was the best. He will be missed.

Betty,
I am so sorry for your loss. I only knew Barry for a short time, and in that time I felt that I had known him much longer. He was such a nice and caring person. I so enjoyed my last visit with him. He was laughing and smiling...so happy, and I will always remember him that way. Know that he is in a wonderful place and cherish your memories with him daily. Also know that I am here for you and your poos. I love you, Janet.

Mrs. Phlegar and Family:
I am soo sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know Mr. Phlegar personally, however I grew up in Raleigh watching the shows that he produced and directed at WRAL. I was a media major at UNCW and I had a "small peek" at what your husband's contributions to those shows might have been.
I know that this may not mean much, but those shows (yes even the wrestling) helped shape Raleighites through our 'gowing up' years. His work did mean something to those on the...

Betty, I'm sorry I never had the opportunity to know Barry except through you, but I know he was special. Cherish the good memories and rejoice that he is in a better place. I'll be in touch soon.

I worked with Barry for a number of years, and always admired his calm demeanor. I try to copy that level of "coolness under fire" as a director now. He was indeed one of my role models.
May the peace of our Lord be with you!
