The news of Barry's passing was shocking and overwhelmingly sad news. My heart goes out to his wife children. We lived in Riverdale and went to high school and college together and refound each other as Doctor and Patient, and friend. May his Memory be a Blessing, it will always be for me.

I was saddened and stunned when I got the letter from WestMed. I was a patient. Dr. Shapiro listened to my experiences (he did not rely solely on the hearing test results) and sent me for an MRI. I am grateful because that scan showed my rare medical condition. He was a kind and caring doctor who was taken before his time. My condolences to his family.

Louise, Barry's sister is my sister-in-law. Our whole family is so sorry for your loss and have you and your family in our prayers. We are here for you anytime.

As a patient of Dr. Shapiro's, I was shocked and greatly saddened when I received a letter in the mail of his passing. He was a gentle and patient Dr. I always felt safe in his hands. He will truly be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
