ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – Barry Marshall Sloan, 37, died as the result of a work-related accident Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Anniston, Ala. Born Oct. 6, 1972, in Amory, he was a son of Terry Medford Sloan and Debra Kay Chaney Sloan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chuck Moffett and Bro. Mike Todd officiating. Burial will be in Hatley Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Allison Sloan; his son, Jakob Sloan; and three daughters, Brooklyn Jade Sloan, Breanna Sloan and Callie Beth Sloan, all of Albertville; his father, Terry M. (Frankie) Sloan of Hatley; his mother, Debra Sloan of Smithville; his grandmother, Hortense Palmer of Hatley; and two brothers, Anthony Sloan of Smithville and Terry Nathan Sloan of Amory.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know he we will be deeply missed and my prayers are with you. Most of all, he had the best kids a father could ask for. He came back from alot and obviously succeeded cause he had a beautiful wife as well as 4 great kids. I will always admire his will to overcome obstacles in his past and provide a wonderful life for him and his family. I am so sorry jakob and callie beth. I love you dearly.
