Not sure what to say?

Mr Vowell arranged for a full scholarship to Louisiana Tech and a position in his National Guard unit. He let me play the nickel plated Stradivarius trombone from his Guard unit. I chose another major but will always remember and appreciate the opportunities he gave me with band. Our trips to Panama City and Gatlinburg were out of this world ! I still have great pictures and memories of those trips. I really loved the symphony and marching band. So many good memories: April Johnson, Marsha...

MUCH LOVE FROM OUR HEARTS TO YOURS

I am sorry I missed Barry's funeral. He was a good friend of mine. We worked together at Bossier High School for a number of years. I never heard anything negitive about him. I greatly valued his friendship. I pray for his soul and his family. He will be greatly missed.

Barry was special to my children Jacob and Alicia while they were at Airline. I caould never thank him enough. i will keep all of the Vowell family in our prayers.

I had the privilege of being a BHS Bearkat Band student & on the flagline. He was strict, but was also kind. He taught us all about character,responsibility,respect- (even though he made Sara Eddington run laps @ 7:00am practices-lol). Mr. Vowell you were one of the best teachers I've ever known!!! Thank you for that! You will truly be missed!! I know you will be conducting beautiful music in Heaven.

So sorry for your loss ! Barry will never be forgotten!

Prayers to your family ! So sorry for your loss !, Mr Vowell will always be remembered !

Barry was one of the Really Good Guys among Louisiana bandmasters. Always helpful & bubbling with energy every time I saw him. He leaves a void in our profession that will never be filled

Barry was a classmate of mine, I have not seen him since we graduated, but always have fond memories. It seems he left such a legacy with his family, students and friends. What a tribute this must be. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
