Not sure what to say?

To The Frueh Family,
What a tragic loss to the medical field as well as the world. I worked for Dr. Frueh when he was in Columbia, Mo. I was having a hard time personally, being a single mom, and he seemed to know what I needed at what time. A "get to work" or a hug. He was a generous and kind man and a genius of a doctor. I am at a loss, heartbroken, and so sorry. Mary Fry (and Ted)

Dear Cheryl, I was very saddened to learn of Bart's passing. He was a collegue, a friend and a very talented Eye Plastic Surgeon. We both served ASOPRS as past presidents, his contributions to this organization and to the training of residents and fellows were legion. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Cheryl,
We just learned of Bart's tragic and untimely passing and are stunned and saddened that this vibrant man who loved life and knew how to enjoy every day is gone. Karl and I have met so many wonderful people on our travels, but meeting Bart and you in Turkey was very special. We were glad we visited you and Bart the following year in Ann Arbor and appreciated your hospitality. Your loss is immeasurable as you and Bart seemed to be the ideal couple and it was a joy to be with you...

Dear Frueh Family,

It is with great sadness that we lose this great person of the world... I only met Dr. Frueh last fall when he did surgery on my eyes. It was during this procedure that he was talking to his colleague about petroglyphs and pictographs. Under anesthesia I blurted out that I taught students about this in my art classes. Dr. Frueh said that he had been in New Mexico and photographed these and would send me some on email. We corresponded and I eventually got some of...

Bart and I were Lakewood High School classmates. I had seen and visited with him only at class reunions. When my husband wanted an eye consultation, my daughter who lives in Ann Arbor mentioned the Kellogg Eye Center and I immediately remembered Bart. Bart arranged the consult. At that point a friendship renewed and, subsequently, we were guests for dinner at Bart and Cheryl's home with other classmates. What fun those dinners were!! Bart delighted in the fun. His and Cheryl's life...

Cheryl~

Were it not for the travel distance, Jane and I would surely be among those who are there to provide comfort. You and Bart obviously meant something special to one another. You will be in our thoughts. Love,

Gary and Jane

Oh sad days we mourn
In winter stillness quiet pause
For those we have loved

Dear Cheryl, I am stunned and in tears. You were just the perfect couple and Paul and I are so saddened, beyond words. Paul will be home to respond further, but for right now, my heart and love are with you. I think Bart was just the very best...and the very best for you. If there is anything you need, either call or email me. Love and Prayers, Cheryl Seybold

I am so very sorry to hear of Dr. Frueh's passing. He was not only a gifted surgeon, but an extraordinary person, who was able to make all feel at ease, and his wonderful personality came through in all interactions, whether personal or professional.

I hope his family is comforted and strenghtened in the days ahead by knowing he so favorably touched so very many lives.
