Not sure what to say?

My condolences to his wife and family. He will be missed.

We will miss your smiling face Barton on channel 8.

Enjoyed Barton’s court coverage while he was at GR Press. Always spot on and insightful. Then enjoyed his on-air presence on WOOD-TV8. Will miss his quirky yet accurate delivery. As a journalist myself, he was wonderful example of truth combined with personality! My condolences to his wife and children. RIP, Barton...you will be missed. By someone you never met.

Even though we never met Barton personally, we feel like he was part of our family. I often told my wife that if we were ever to be interviewed for a news story, it would have to be with Barton. We loved his offbeat sense of humor (very much like mine) and really enjoyed his news reports. We will greatly miss him.

Dear family and loved ones of Barton, Deepest sympathy and prayers for you as you transition to life in the absence of Barton. He touched our lives in many positive ways, we thank God for his life. Jerry and Diane Beattie Holton, MI

When the was no easy answer, his sharp mind and intellect would come back with a slightly different question that would get the answer he was looking for. He was well respected...

You were my favorite reporter, Barton. We'll miss you.

Shocked. Barton was the highlight of News 8. Very sorry for your loss!

Always enjoyed his news reports. What strength and courage he had. I am sure his family is very proud of him. Remember the good times, they will live forever.
