Sail On, Barton! Tripp

My 1st Tulane Sailing Club meeting....fall 1968. There they are: Buddy, Barton & Click...just back from winning Dragon gold at the '68 Acapulco Yachting Olympics. What an inspiration! Now, all three heroes have crossed the bar. Will always remember "Walking Eagle" and the joy you had for Life, Friends, Sailing, Southern, Tulane and your Family. You will be missed! Tripp Alyn Newport, RI

A special man who leaves a lifetime of memories and will be missed! Condolences from the Tizo and Anne Robinson family.

Big Barton. We love you. I will never forget the excellent advice you gave and your sense of humor. You will definitely live on in my fondest memories. God bless and Godspeed. Daniel (Bubba) Meade.

Ahh... What a loss! Barton Jahncke was always a great competitor, and a gracious guy! In a small way, he was also a mentor and an inspiration to me, and a lot of other younger sailors, growing up around the Southern Yacht Club in the late 60s and early 70s. Gratitude and appreciation for a life well lived! Condolences to all friends and family. I'd say, a celebration of life is in order!

you were a force ten in life, sir. was a pleasure to have met you.

Barty, Was always a pleasure to be around.. Entertained either at Deke House or Trinity Church or at a presentation with Gene McCormick group. He will be missed. Eugenia and Tommy Lind
