Happy 4th of July, Marine! I remember when we first deployed to Kuwait, before the invasion. I was from Supply, but augmented to Field MP for the build-up to the invasion of Iraq. We all had to work about 16 hours a day for a while (often longer). Hans seen how tired and beat that I was, but still motivated (enough at least), and I was honored to be amongst "Field Marines" too (lol). I still think about him every day. We were great friends. I saw him shortly before he signed up for the Marines. I feel sad when I drive by his old house in Ivyland. God bless Bart. Until we meet again...

Another year has passed, 10 years since you suffered such a profound loss of your wonderful son, brother, friend. Not a day goes by that I dont pray for you all. I pray that His soul has the much deserved peace he is entitiled to and he is looking out for his other Marines. I pray for the family and friends he left behind that someday they will see how the goodness outweighs the sadness. Time will tell. I hope to go to the cemetary this month in honor.
