Dr. Basil Chronis was highly recommended when we moved from Chicago to Mokena Il He took care of me delivering my Last baby who will be 40 on January 4 also took care of my Daughter and delivered her first child, His personality and bedside manners could never be replaced. Our lives were blessed.

Just had friends visiting from Illinois and only just now heard about Dr Chronis. My sympathy to the family and loves and hugs sent to heaven. I was a patient of Dr Chronis from the time I was a young woman until his last day in practice - I was his last patient on his last day. We sat afterwards and recalled our many years together as doctor and patient. He had tears in his eyes as he recalled his years of work and the love of his practice. Besides him being there through my fertility issues and finally the birth of my children, I'll always remember his joking, his stories of Greece, and his always being available for a phone call. I have yet to have another doctor who came to the phone or called back personally. A kind and gentle man he was!

Although it has been a year since Dr. Chronis' passing, I can't help but feel very sad. Dr. Chronis delivered both of my children....Daniel in 1982 and Jennifer in 1986....both C sections. When I had complications with Daniel, Dr. Chronis had to return to Palos late in the evening to check on me. For his having to do that, he joked and said I needed to name my son Basil, after him!!! He was such a wonderful Doctor and human being!! Heaven has definately gained a special angel! May you all cherish your loving memories of him... He truly was the best!

My deepest sympathies to the Chronis family. I loved Dr. Chronis. He was like a father to me. He delivered all three of my daughters.i was devastated to hear he stopped delivering babies when my daughter was having her first,but was so grateful to be able to have his son, George follow in his footsteps, and deliver my three grandchildren. I always look forward to my visits with Dr. Chronis. He always brightened my day. He was the only Doctor I trusted completely. IM so happy I can continue with his son. I'm sure he is making everyone in heaven smile. God bless and keep you, dear, dear man!

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Chronis. I have been a patient of Dr. Chronis since 1961. We use to laugh and talk about celebrating our Doctor Patient relationship together. He delivered 5 of my 6 children and guided and helped me through some serious illnesses. I will miss him very much as I considered him after all the years of knowing him to be my friend. I was saddened to read about Dr. Chronis in the Southtown/Star. My sympathy to you and your family. Dr. Chronis was a one-of-a-kind doctor. He was always pleasant, humorous,serious,and very professional. I began seeing him in 1977 until he retired. I trusted in him completely through many surgeries and office visits. He would remind me that we had another anniversary. I guess we celebrated a lot in that long period of time!! I will remember him fondly!! --Sorry to have missed speaking to him at Olympia Dukakis' "Rose". I turned to speak to a friend, and he was gone up the stairs. I hope his life was as wonderful as he made mine!

My deepest sympathy to the Chronis family. Dr. Chronis was my first and only OB/GYN doctor until the day he retired. I always had faith and confidence in his clinical expertise and judgment. He was compassionate, caring and funny. We shared many laughs over the years. A gem of a man and the epitome of medical practice. You made my life better. God bless you with your place in heaven.

I am so sorry to just hear this sad news. Dr. Basil was such a great and caring Doctor. He was their to be with his son Dr. George when I gave birth to my 1st child 7 1/2 years ago. What a great memory to have him in the room with me and my husband. I will never forget him.

Dr. Chronis saved my life and my son's life in an emergency delivery thirty- six years ago. He even had a police escort to the hospital. As time went by, I had two more healthy babies delivered by him and two other successful surgeries. I had complete confidence in Dr. Chronis' medical expertise. He was always kind and compassionate with a good sense of humor, too. My deepest sympathy to your family in the loss of your loved one.

Hope Dr. C. is resting in heaven & helping to deliver more babies. He lived to be 87 and delivered our baby boy in 1987, after years of infertility. He advised that if it was meant to be, it would be, "put it in God's hands." he said. Blessed...we are...Thank you Dr. Chronis, you are now in God's hands.

Without Dr. Chronis, my dream of a large family would never have been possible. Told I would never have children, I went to him and vowed if he agreed, than that would be my future. Instead, his wisdom, skill and humor was there to deliver my 5 children. He had some wonderful funny comments during deliveries, that stay with me to this day, 35 years later. He will be missed, but certainly not forgotten.
I can only imagine how many people were affected by this remarkable man. A true loss for us, but another bright star in Heaven.

Dear Chronis Family,
It is now time for a couple of laughs. I have been a patient of Dr. B. for 50 years, or until his retirement. Back in 1972 he told me I was a thorn in his side, hence he received the prickliest, thorny cactus I could find. Then in 1966 when my fourth child was due over Easter weekend I told him I was going to mess up his weekend. Needless to say my baby was born on Good Friday evening. He never made it to church as another patient had also delivered. I have become a friend of the family and at one time their Realtor. To the wonderful Chronis family, my deepest sympathy to all of you. Take care of Mom, but I am positive she will be fine.

If it wasn't for Dr. Chronis and God (as he would say) we wouldn't have the wonderful family we have. Dr. Chronis was a fertility doctor long before many other doctors entered the field. We owe him a debt of gratitude.
