There are some people you meet in life that you just know they will be successful no matter what they become. Basil was one of those people. I will miss visiting with him at the 50 and over class reunion. Phil Cutshaw

In the course of receiving a school education there are certain teachers who stand out as very special. Basil Mason was one of those for me while attending Washington Gardner High School in Albion. My thoughts go out to the family at this time of sorrow.

I have had the pleasure of meeting with you and Mr. Mason a few times; the most recently at Scotts wedding. During the times I was fortunate enough to visit you and Mr. Mason I was impressed by Mr. Mason’s kindness, intelligence and humility; and your strength and class. In this sad time please by warmed by the thought that those characteristics live on through Scott and his teaching at Avondale High School. I have had the pleasure of teaching with him for many years and...

I have known Basil since we moved to Richland in 1935. My brother, Stanley, was in his class. He was always a nice guy and, as another Richland farm boy, I have followed his career with pride. May God be with you.
