Not sure what to say?

It is close to my 25th anniversary of my GB with Dr Meyerwitz and Dr Baggs. I wanted to find him. May I say Inhave been blessed tonhave known this man. Dr Baggs assisted but my life has been forever blessed for this life saving surgery. Im still a size 8 after 25 yrs and never had one problem with my surgery. God bless this angel. Thank you.

I was just thinking of Dr Meyerowitz today and looked up his obituary. He performed my gastric bypass in the 1960´s and to date I´m 73 and have always kept the weight off. He was a wonderful kind soul and he will ever remain in my heart as a man who saved my life. He will always be remembered by me ...

I was one of his Gastric Bypass success stories. I adored him. He turned my life around. I weighted 280 pounds when he did my surgery at Mills Memorial surgery. He took me to a medical presentation at Stanford Hospital. Around 1980. I was doing so well. I will always love and admire him for all the people’s lives he helped. Rest forever dear soul. I now weigh 114 pounds. Have kept the weight off. My name was Beverly Rider. I am now 72 years old.

I was fortunate enough to work with Basil toward the end of his Mills-Peninsula career. He was a fierce patient advocate and my role model. He will remain a standard for my practice. He will be missed.

We are so sad to hear that Basil is no longer here. We know Miriam and all the children and grandchildren have many fond memories of times with Basil and that this will help them overcome the sadness of their loss. We treasure the times we have been with Basil and Miriam.

I was very sad to learn of Dr. Meyerowitz’s passing. Both of my parents were devoted friends, and had enormous respect for him and his wife Miriam. I send my condolences to his family and rest assured, Basil’s memory will always be held in the highest regard by all of the Parkers.

I am saddened by the news of Basil's passing. He was an outstanding member of the San Mateo medical community, interested in bioethics and never afraid of breaking new ground (i.e. bariatric surgery). Even in retirement he continued to help out at Samaritan House. He will be missed.
I send condolences to the Meyerowitiz family.

Dr. Meyerowitz was volunteering at our Samaritan House Clinic just a few days before he suffered his stroke. I will always remember that last encounter with him. He was a very kind and caring doctor to our patients. We will miss him greatly. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family. May happy memories of him ease your loss.
