I will NEVER forget His Eminence, Basil, and I would like to tell you why. And I do so with tears of gratitude.

In 1997, I was asked to assume the pastorate of a pastorally and economically profoundly troubled Melkite parish in Akron. 160 families a million and a half in debt.

The Thursday I arrived coincided with the death of a Ruthenian priest in the Akron area.
