Not sure what to say?

God Bless Coach Ricco, his friends, former colleagues, and his family.

I’ve known Bill Ricco for over 50 years. I was about 10 years old when he and my sister Carolyn started dating.

With my wife and two children at my side at Bill’s funeral it suddenly occurred to me that I had something my children didn’t have – Bill and Carolyn as role models early in my life.

Bill and Carolyn were the first of our family to go to college, but not the last. They lived life the way it should be lived. Although my children didn’t know my “big sister” and...

I am so sorry for you loss, but he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you,

my condolences to the family God bless Coach Bill he'll always be remembered. rmonk

Dear Sam, Joe, Robert and Rosalie,

My father Anthony Lupica told me wonderful stories about your brother from back "in the old days" when you grew up together near the school Paul Revere. From reading all the entries in this guest book I can tell your brother was much admired and loved for his professional accomplishments as well as for being a great human being. Ricco family, please accept our condolences from the Lupica family. God Bless Basilio.

I'd like to share my memories of Bill Ricco from the perspective of a student in the early days of Walsh Jesuit. Having not been a football player, my initial introduction to Coach Ricco was probably his thundering voice at the Spirit Week pep rally during my first week at Walsh. When describing the 1969 Warrior Football Team, he heartily advised that he had "never seen a more dedicated group of young men." During that rally, I became a WJ Sports enthusiast for life.

And so it...

I had the pleasure of working on my Masters Degree in Education with Bill in 1977. He was truly a gentlemen and always had a smile on his face and a kind word. He will be missed by the Walsh Jesuit community and by those whose lives he touched.

Mr. Ricco taught me Biology at St. Ignatius. He was a true mentor for many of us in our 4-f class ... inspiring us that we were special ... and that we would succeed at the college level and later in life. With his guidance, I attended his alma mater, the University of Dayton, where I met my wife of 42 years. Thank you Bill.....you helped so many. God bless you.

Mr. Ricco tried to teach me Biology at St. Ignatius: His words, his deeds, and his lessons of compassion, concern, and understanding for others -- to include even the frogs to be dissected -- proved to be much more enduring. I will miss him.
