I first met Bas when I was dating his sister almost 65 years ago. Right away I was impressed by his Godliness and his desire to serve his God and Saviour. He was a great father, brother and husband, and on top of that he was an exceptional mechanic. He will be missed. What an inspiration he has been!

Remembered with love by the Abbink families in Canada. Bas was a warm-hearted and generous man with a great love for family. He will be greatly missed. He was named for his maternal grandfather Bastiaan Abbink in The Netherlands.

Bas is with Jesus and I'm thankful for that. But back here he will certainly be missed. I met Bas on the sidewalk in front of Stehouwer Auto Sales many years ago when he was walking the dog. We became fast friends and I always looked forward to our visits. I'm a better person after knowing you, enjoy your eternal home my friend.
