Beatrice O. Baker

Miss Baker was very special to me. Not only was she my 1st grade teacher, at the Margaret C. Ells School, but she lived in my neighborhood. While growing up, I liked to pass by her house, and say "Hello" to her if I saw her in the yard. I remember being compassionate towards me, and a strong educator. She made me feel special. We need more people like Miss Baker.

Please accept my sincerest sympathies. Miss Baker was my kindergarten teacher at Liberty School in Springfield, MA. many, many years ago. To this day, I can still remember her gentle and loving manner. May she rest in peace.

I now teach in Fairfax County, VA, and when I will come to Springfield to visit my family, Miss Baker also received visits from me. Ms.Baker lived four houses down from my family on Maynard St. She was my role model in becoming a teacher.My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

To my "little old lady" whom I loved with all my heart. You will be missed more than words could ever express. I know in my heart that you are not only my God-Mother but you are now my Fairy God Mother. I love you and I thank you in advance for watching over me as I know you will.
