Barbara and Jim,
Although we did not get to visit often I have strong memories of the times we visited your home and the warm welcome your Mom always gave us. When my first child was born she sent me a hand-knit sweater and booties that I have just had the honor of passing down to my daughter for her first child, telling her to treasure them because they came from her great aunt. I have thought of your mom often and know you must miss her very much.

I am sorry that I cannot be with you and your family at your mom’s funeral. But I do want to let you know of my intense feelings of gratitude and love I have for my sister.
