Tempe Mortuary - Tempe Obituary

Beatrice Shirlee Clinch went to join her Heavenly Father November 25, 2014. Shirlee was born to Edward Siegenthaler and Helen Townsend Siegenthaler in Detroit, Michigan on May 23, 1919. Shirlee attended nurses training in Kirksville, MO where she met her future husband, Arthur Huston Clinch. Following their marriage, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Art (later known as "Doc" Clinch) earned his medical degree. They then moved to Vidor, Texas where Art completed his internship. They loved Texas and, after relocating several times, ended up in the Ft. Worth area where they raised their three children.
Shirlee worked in Art's office, and then became a homemaker after the birth of their second child. Later, she was employed at Lake Worth Osteopathic Hospital before going back to work with her husband until his death in 1976. After his death, Shirlee worked in hospitals in Uvalde, TX and Grand Prairie, TX until her retirement. She then moved to Arizona, living in Sun Lakes and Phoenix.
She was active in the American Red Cross and the Hospital Auxiliary for the Tarrant County Osteopathic Physicians Group. She was an active member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Phoenix.
While Shirlee loved being a nurse, she was first and foremost a dedicated and loving mother. She made many sacrifices for her children and prepared them for their future. She taught them social skills at the dining table and always expected them to display moral and ethical behavior. She encouraged them in all they did and provided the means for them to obtain the education and skills they would need to be productive, happy members of the community. She was always available to work in football concession stands or attend band concerts. She managed to find time to sew apparel for her daughters and granddaughters – including wedding gowns! She was an intricate part of her grandchildren's lives and the perfect example of a grandmother – thoughtful, loving and usually a complete pushover!
Shirlee is survived by: her daughters Carol Clinch and Sharon (John Berkebile) Heineman, her son Charles (Marianne) Clinch, grandchildren Cara (David) Burgess, Shirlee Napper, Tye (Jennifer) Heineman, Laurie (Barry) McCullar, Andy (Lisa) Clinch and Nikki Clinch, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
She will be greeted by her husband Art, her parents, and siblings Thelma Arnold, Barbara Abbott, Edward Siegenthaler, Jr., and Charles Siegenthaler, her son-in-law, Ronald Heineman and many, many friends. Services will be private.
