Beatrice Berndt Grommesh

Beatrice Berndt Grommesh, 82, Fargo, ND died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Essentia Health, Fargo. Beatrice Hill was born July 10, 1929 in Fargo, ND to Clark and Florence (Morrow) Hill. She grew up on her father's farm near Erie, ND also attending school there. On May 25, 1948, Beatrice married Wayne Berndt. They farmed for forty years in the Erie area until Wayne's death in 1988. Wayne and Beatrice spent many happy weekends at their lake cottage on Cotton Lake. In 1994, she married Vern Grommesh. They made their home in Fargo and spent their winters in Mesa, AZ. Beatrice is survived by her husband, Vern; four sons, Randy, Valley City, ND, Jerry, Grand Rapids, MN, Doug, Arthur, ND, Dean, Henderson, NV; one daughter, Lona (Johan) Finley, Henderson, NV; eight grandchildren, Jarad, Tyler, Chad (Lindsay), Paige, Taylor, Jacob Berndt, Rockie and Lane Finley; great granddaughter, Harper; sister, Charlotte Morrow, AZ; four step-children, John (Lori), Lori (Les), Jani (Steve), Susy; eleven step grandchildren, Michael, Chrisy, Juliean, Lindsey, Alex, Katie, Kelsey, Carley, Nicole, Miranda and Megan; and three step great grandchildren. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; brother, Wallace; and daughter-in-law, Patty. Funeral: Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11 AM at Edgewood United Methodist Church, Fargo.
