SHERMAN- Beatrice Helen Schumaker, 86 of Sherman, died Sunday (January 22, 2017) at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital, Jamestown NY.
She was born May 5, 1930 in Elder, PA the daughter of the late Charles and Doris Pritchard Burdic.
Beatrice had been a homemaker. She was also a hostess for the First Lutheran Church of Jamestown, cleaned houses in the Chautauqua Institution, and was a house maid for the Women's Club at the Chautauqua Institution.
She belonged to the North Harmony United Methodist Church and the North Harmony Senior Citizens.
Beatrice enjoyed sewing, hunting, fishing, and hosting family activities.
She is survived by her companion of 47 years, James Leroy Kranking; a son, Sidney (Dawn) Schumaker of Jamestown: a stepson, Jamie (Renee) Kranking of Tallahasee, FL; two granddaughters, Candy (Robert) Shane of Jamestown and Sue Schumaker of Jamestown; one grandson, Mason Kranking; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Donna Greenwood of Bakersfield, and Rita Potts of Tennessee; four brothers, Charles (Pat) Burdic of Springville, Robert Burdic of Depew, David (Cheryl) Burdic of Arkansas, and James (Judy) Burdic of Ashville.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Sidney L. Schumaker Sr.; a son Merle Edward Schumaker; four sisters, Margaret Greathouse, Esther Miller, Joanne Barber, and Frances Smith; and one brother, Ray Burdic.
A private service is to be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the North Harmony United Methodist Church.
