Beatriz took me in her home during high school for quite some time. I was her step-niece sort of speak but there was no step or even niece like feeling in our relationship. She treated me as a daughter and made me feel that was I was no different than any of her intamite treasured family. She filled the house with love...Her smile, sense of humor,kindness,awesome cooking, and good example will live in me forever. As a young man I suffered a debilitating accident and her words of wisdom to me then are words I carry with me and have passed on to others today "No soy yo si no mi Dios que mora en mi quien toma este proximo paso" (It is not me but rather my GOD that dwells within me that will take this next step) These words not only helped me "walk" again but have resonated in my thought process ever since.
