Beckett Cypher was the son of singer Melissa Etheridge and her ex-partner Julie Cypher. The pair, who split up in 2000, had two children together by aritficial insemination, Beckett and his sister Bailey. Their biological father is rock legend David Crosby.

I too, lost my son to this addiction in May of 2015. He was 27. I feel slighted as a mother, cheated out of sharing in the rest of his life. I know how this feels and I am so sorry you have to experience this sadness. No one deserves to lose a child whos in the prime of growing up and becoming all he can be.
