What an odd happenstance that I for some reason was recollecting Beekman from my childhood, over at his father's house in the 1970's, precious memories from the SC plantation. And so I looked him up and was led here. Thoughts of him lingering from all those years ago, seen from the eyes of a child who has never forgotten. He was as he seemed to me then. An amazing spirit, an amazing man. A life well lived.

I have wonderful memories of "Beek" , especially when he was my Escort at the Boston Debutante Assembly 51 yrs ago! He was a very patient and tolerant young man with a terrific sense of humor!... and continued to be throughout his life. It's an honor to have known him. Alice Ingraham

Beek was a man of quiet dignity and great courage. He wore his prominent name better than most. I will miss him.
