I cannot describe my emotion at the hearing of the passing of "Benjamin" as I always called and referred to with much personal passion. Such a stately, gentleman and one who truly loved and adored Gert and the Lord.

Mr. Calmese was special to everyone at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Many times, he was the first face a parishoner would see when entering the church. There was that grand smile and sometimes a warm comment.

Dear Aunt Gert,
I've only known your family a few short years because of my friendship with Claudia, but you and Uncle Ben have made me feel like family. I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Ben's passing and send love and prayers to you and to Ben's family. He will be missed by so many. I feel blessed to have known him even if for a short while.
