Dear Martha, David and Lisa,
Kathy and I are saddened by the news of Ben's passing. I always enjoyed my conversations with Ben. During our wonderful years at Parkside, Ben loved to tease me about being the 'mechanical' quarterback. He was a very passionate man in regard to his teaching and coaching of young people. I learned a great deal from Ben throughout my years as a coach.
Sincerely,
John and Kathy Raut

Coach Sierra was an outstanding coach and mentor to all of us who wore the blue and red of Parkside Eagles. He helped us to be better players and students and young men. He was very kind to all the McQuillan family and remained our friend throughout our adult lives. Our condolences on behalf of the McQuillan family to David and Lisa and Martha. You are in our prayers at this difficult time.

Martha, Dave, Lisa & family,
Ben meant more to me than I can ever put into words. He was a great friend, and a rock in my life. I deeply regret not having had more time to spend with him. I have often looked back to the years he and Rick coached together and remember the life lessons he taught the young men whose lives he touched. He WAS Rick's father figure and best friend. Thank you for sharing him with us all. The treasured memories he gave me will last forever.
