Coach Ben,
My mentor, coach and friend for over 47 years. You were my OC in HS,and a friend for life. A source of knowledge and strength when I needed you. I was there with you when you were inducted into the Coaches HOF and as usual low keyed as ever. You will be missed.

I'm saddened to hear about the passing of Coach. Praying for his family and for the repose of his soul.

My memories of Ben go back to our childhood at Concordia Lutheran School. He was quiet most of the time unless it was show and tell! My sympathies go out to the Wright family. May he rest in peace.

I am taking this memory all the way back to 1st grade show and tell in the gymnasium at Concordia Lutheran School. Who can forget the daredevil escapades of Ben in the wilds of Riverdale, Maryland? I do believe that Miss Baden had to cut the adventures short on more than one occasion. My heartfelt sympathies to the Wright family. Martha Winte Reinhart

For the many years growing up together from there to here we at least knew proper ways to be taught, coached and know how to have a good focus. Enough to have a positive attitude those that would listen and learn from what we shared to others to make them understand much better.
I will miss you my friend, God bless...

Very few human beings have ever influenced so many lives: students, parents, coworkers and the entire community, for so many years, in such a consistently positive way! Anything we say or write about Ben Wright, while completely true and well intended, will simply be inadequate. He had a tremendous, long-lasting impact on all of us, and while he has now gone from among us, he is with us always.

Thanks Ben for giving me the opportunity to be your Oline coach and helping make me a better coach. I remember "Dr Wright" healing all the boo boos of players through his words, "You're not hurt, get back in there," his call for perfection by making the offense "run it again," and many other hilarious one-liners ("Shameful, it's not rocket science, you gotta block somebody). What a great coach and person. Thanks for all the advice over the years. I miss you already.
