He was always friendly with a smile on his face, always remembered names, always answered communications, and frequently shared about himself, his family of origins, and his native country of India. I remember Brother Benedict as a Brother Monk at Prince of Peace Abbey in Oceanside, California. He was a beloved, friendly, welcoming, presence who greatly loved God and His people. Without fail, he was in front of the Abbey greeting people as they arrived for Sunday Mass. When he became ill, he still welcomed people who came to visit him and answered cards. He is greatly missed, but I have no doubt he is still an unseen presence at the Abbey with his Brother Monks and the people he loved so...
