Not sure what to say?

Sister Benilde is one of the major reasons I am an elementary music teacher today. Her love of music, ready smile, infectious laugh and absolute passion for living life to its fullest impacted me at St. Anthony's during my critical 6th-8th grade years. She always had a smile, a hug and a word of encouragement when you needed it most. I will never forget this remarkable lady.

Sr. Benilde planted the seeds of music and joy in our hearts. It was my true joy to accompany Sr. Benilde at the Our Lady of the Lake University Sacred Heart chapel organ with my trumpet at the many Jubilee masses, graduations, weddings and holy masses we celebrated. I will always keep Sr. Benilde's love in my heart and fondly remember my former teacher, next door neighbor and mentor. The seeds she planted in all of us will continue to sprout and bloom for a very long time.

I will miss her wonderful chuckle and her beautiful smile.
She has touched the lives of so many people.
Sister Benilde will be greatly missed!
She was a wonderful teacher and a friend to all.

Sister Benilde was an inspiration to me that lasted well beyond my years at St. Anthony's. She loved life and loved music and had high standards of excellence. I don't think anyone could have imagined the heights that you could take a group of grade school students in singing competitions. Your smile, your facial expressions, your push for hard work and excellence will stay with me always. Keep looking down on us, Sister.

I will always have fond memories of those years in your choir at ST. Anthony's (I attended there 9/57-5/65).
You may have been short in stature, but you were very BIG on love and talent. I still have alot of the "exact" 3 or 4 part choral arrangement music that you taught us.
I can still remember wondering how you could play that big organ at Our Lady of Grace church and still see around it to see what the priest was doing so that you would know when to play the next song.

Sister Benilde, you were a life-long inspiration to me. As my elementary music teacher for at least 7 years, you taught me to love music, especially singing, to work hard, to excel beyond my own expectations, and realize there can be a soft, loving heart beyond the stern, demanding demeanor that is often encountered. Thank you for your influence in my life and for your friendship over the years. I'll miss you greatly.
