Sadly, just learned of Ben's passing. What a wonderful, kind man! It was always a pleasure to talk with him. I went to high school with Ted. The world is less with him not here. My deepest condolences.

He was my sixth grade teacher at Gregory Heights and we absolutely adored him. He was one of my all time favorites. A bunch of us were Star Trek nerds and we discussed that he was so cool maybe he was in reality an alien from some advanced species.

Mr. Bachman was my 5th grade teacher (1959/60). I have fond memories of him reading Tom Sawyer and other stories to us after lunch. He was a good teacher.

Ben and Deane were the first family members to welcome me and make me feel like a part of the family when Johnny and I got married almost 50 years ago! Johnny and Ben had a very strong bond as they both loved cars. We would get together and they would talk about all of the cars they had owned, with a common statement by both being, " I should never have sold that car!" As a teenager, Johnny looked up to Ben, and as they got older they were very close. Johnny looked very much like Ben, so...

I am Ben's niece. Whenever my mom and I would visit my grandmother, we also enjoyed visiting Uncle Ben and Aunt Deane. He was a kind and generous man. I remember him with fondness and love. I am sad that he is gone now. May you rest in peace, Uncle Ben. Hobbit Forrest
