Benjamin Bartolini Obituary

Benjamin Bartolini of Delray Beach Florida, formally of Framingham and Eastham Massachusetts, passed away February 19th, 2013 at the age of 88 years old. He was born June 13, 1924 to Raniero and Carmela Bartolini of Framingham MA. Benjamin graduated Framingham High School as a member of the class of 1942. After completing the Massachusetts Radio School, he enlisted as a radio officer in the Merchant Marines, seeing action in WWII including runs to Murmansk, Russia, Italy and Egypt. In 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, and love of his life Eleanor H. Connery, of Framingham. Benjamin worked for New England Telephone Company for 38 years, retiring as a manager in 1984. During this time, he was active in the towns affairs including the Framingham School Board, at one point serving chairman. An avid outdoorsman and Eagle Scout, Ben was a member of the Southboro Rod and Gun Club and leader of the Boy Scouts in Framingham. Benjamin spent his early retirement years in Eastham MA, where he volunteered with various town groups including the Eastham Finance Committee and spearheaded the construction of the Eastham DPW barn. In addition to his career and civic responsibilities, he was the head of a loving extended family. Ben was council to his children, nieces and nephews as well as many others who sough t out his wisdom. Brother of the late Mario Bartolini, he is survived by his wife Eleanor, daughter and son-in-law Brenda and James Benoit, son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Elaine Bartolini, son Barry Bartolini, daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Tim Trott, four grandchildren Benjamin, Bethany, Hannah and Gina, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Calling hours will be on Monday February 25th at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans MA from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday February 26th at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans MA at 10 am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

I worked for Mr. Bartolini at New England Telephone Co. He was a wonderful man, always smiling, and I am saddened to hear of his loss. My symapthies and prayers for his family. He will be missed.
