Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Bolen and family,
Sorry for your loss of Ben, he was a friend from day one to us and our family. Al and I were concessionaires at Westmoreland State Park from 1964-1973 and I also
knew Mr. Bolen even before that through my uncle Clifford Wyatt at Douthat State Park. Mr. Bolen always enjoyed a soft shell crab sandwich when visiting Westmoreland. We always admired his cordial greetings and his fairness and understanding of all those he had dealings with. The state park system...

Mrs. Bolen & family,
Very sorry to learn of your loss today. I knew Mr. Bolen through my mother and father at Westmoreland Park, who respected him and considered him a real friend. There I lived from six years into my twenties and met him many times. Know that many will remember him for many years to come for his contributions to the VA state parks and the friendships he made. I still recall many of the Park family and the friendships formed with the “summer rangers and lifeguards”...

Mrs Edith Bolen, Son Marc, and family -
Our families lived within a mile of each other at Fancy Gap and were good neighbors. My father's name was Troy Allen. I finished at Hillsville High School with Mr. Bolen's Brother, Wesley. My sympathy and prayers are with you.

Ben was one of the real conservation leaders in Virginia. The State Park system we enjoy today is largely the result of his diligent efforts over so many good years. Thank you, Ben. May the roads rise up to meet you, may you enjoy green fields and parks forever, and may you rest in peace.
