Ben- I'm missing you today. Ben was a dynamic figure in my life and the life of others. Often, we were a pain in each other's side. There was something there. Something constant. I knew if I needed to speak to someone who was inherently good, I could always count on him. We were always fighters of the good fight and wanted more from the world than what we were experiencing. It has become increasingly more difficult to find people that contain even a few of the many glorious characteristics of Ben. I missed his call January 12th, and have been answering it in my mind ever since. I hope he hears me. I love you too Benji!

Juan,
Although most of us never met Benjamin in person, it is obvious from the many kind words and heartfelt compliments, that Belynda and I, along with your entire professional family knew a significant part of Ben, just by knowing you. Quoting from the many Guest Book entries: Friend, loyal, helpful, good natured, jokes, humor, funny, witty, sarcasm, knowledge, intelligent, smart, teacher, mentor, respect, attentive, compassionate, sympathetic, and the broadest praise: Role Model. If I were to use these words to describe one of my colleagues, Juan Cuellar would be the first name that Belle would respond with.

Please take some comfort that in Ben's life, he managed to touch many in a way that you can be proud. Those connections will forever be positive influences on Ben's contacts.

Ben, Juan and your entire family are in our prayers and thoughts.

Mr. Cuellar,
I will never forget English class with you my sophomore year. Ever since day one I hated school and thought it was pointless. But you, Mr. Cuellar, taught me more than any other teacher and I actually enjoyed it. Even though almost every class you separated me, Cameron, & John, I always looked forward to your class. Your jokes, sarcasm, and incredible knowledge to teach will be deeply missed.
I don't think I will ever forget you. Thank you and rest in peace.

Mr. Cuellar was someone I looked up to. I realize this only now after he is gone. I remember his class and our discussion about respect. He understood where I was coming from better than many a teacher. Though we were not close, I thought of him as a friend, and a role model. As I hold him in high respects, I pray for him, his family, and the people who enjoyed his class as I did. He recommended me for an advanced class, and I returned
to his class in Analyzing Visual Media. He helped me greatly when I was injured. Some teachers showed no sympathy, and gave me no breaks. He lightened my workload so I could focus on my recovery. When I returned to Stratford this year, I was disappointed that he was no longer teaching there. Thank you Mr. Cuellar. I will always hold your memory. I hope to attend your funeral, as I will miss you greatly.

Ben was always to first to help me out with a technology problem in my classroom or to share a new idea. He was an amazingly compassionate teacher--and an astoundingly gifted writer. I missed him so much when he left us to pursue full-time graduate work--his departure was such a loss to Stratford's English department. He included everyone in his invitations whether they were young or old, dear friends or merely acquaintances. My prayers now are for Ben's family here on earth. I know that in the future they will be reconciled with Ben in heaven, and we here at Stratford will see our good friend again.

I clearly remeber mr.Cuellar, he was my sophmore english teacher four years ago. I remember loving his class and even though he had a sarcastic tone, it made me love it more. We never talked much since i was quiet but he was very attentive to my writing since he would put super helpful comments. I will always remember Mr.Cuellar

Mr. Cuellar was my homeroom teacher for four years and one of the most amazing teachers i have ever encountered he will be greatly missed.

January 14, 2013

Mr. Cuellar was an outstanding teacher. He taught me how to be a better writer. My writing improved so much while I was his student.
He had a book of all of his writings. He would let us look at it when we had free time. He was such a good writer.
I remember details about a lot of his stories.
A good teacher like Mr Cuellar is hard to come by. I appreciate the efforts he made to help us learn more about the books we were reading.
He said he was leaving to learn more about literature, it seemed like he couldn't get enough of learning and reading. He was very smart. I will always remember him and miss him and I will treasure his memory.
