Benjamin Floyd, 60 of East Main St, Clinton, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends at Yale New-Haven Hospital. Benjamin was born August. 6, 1949, in Guilford, CT, to the late Benjamin Calvin Floyd and Pearl Blanchard Floyd of Guilford, CT. Mr. Floyd was a retired Connecticut State Trooper (Troop F) and spent a majority of his career working in the steel industry. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed refurbishing old bicycles, reading, fishing, and was an avid Yankees fan. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends who will always remember him as a kind hearted and loving man. He was a beloved husband of Camille Criscuolo Floyd, father of Kenneth Floyd of North Carolina, Christian Floyd of East Haddam, CT, Joshua Floyd of Southington, CT, Dawn Floyd and Ben Floyd. He was a loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren, and a beloved son-in-law of Michael Criscuolo, Guilford, CT. Benjamin was the brother of Sandra Lewis of Springfield, MO, Suzanne Law of Guilford, CT, and Barbara Richardson of Ash Grove, MO. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Anthony Mascia, the Cardiology Associates and Yale New-Haven Hospital for their care and support. A memorial service will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10 am. Burial will follow the services in Westside Cemetery, Three Mile Course, Guilford. Friends may call prior to the services from 8:30 – 10am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Missionary Fund, c/o Lewis Lake, 95 Wheeler Path, Guilford, CT 06437.
