I REMEMBER DR. BEN WHEN HE WAS A CHAPLAIN WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTON. HE WAS A FINE GENTLEMAN. MAY HIS SOLE REST IN PEACE WITH JESUS.

To him that did it his way Benny Groomes... I will take a piece of you with me, and I will do it my way. It was good to know him, be with him and share with him. We learn something from everyone if we just pay attention. In life we don't change we remain the same throughout, in family, in love and friendship we remain...PAW

To the family of Dr. Groomes. As one of the first four graduates of the 13 College Program, I will always be grateful to Dr. Groomes. He was a strong inspirational leader that did not quit on me. In turn, I have learned not to quit on others. May his legacy of encouraging others continue in your family, his fraternity, and in all the other lives he touched in this life. God be with you.

To The Groomes Family:

It is very saddening news to here about your lost. Since I basically grew up with Benjamin in school until I went in The Air Force at a young age. If you know what the old neighborhood in West Jacksonville was like then you know that we were all one big family. So each time I here of a loss from there it greeves me dearly.
