I'm sorry to hear of Ben's passing. He and my father were distant cousins (Bernius, Campbell) and I, too, grew up in the neighborhood and remember Ben on Mardi Gras Day at the Tavern on Laurel St. all dressed up in costume for the big parades. Great memories! I saw him a while ago and he didn't remember me, but after I explained who I was, he went into some stories about my Dad and some of the things they did growing up together. Craziness!
