Benjamin D. Lobdell, age 31, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at his home.
He was born August 2, 1973 in Danbury, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lawrence "Gray-Buzz" Lobdell, and his maternal grandmother, Sophianne Weaver.
He resided in Flagstaff, Arizona until 2004 when he moved back to Hot Springs to be near his family. He worked at Oaklawn Jockey Club. He was a free spirit, who loved the outdoors and loved his friends. He enjoyed writing poetry and listening to music.
He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Rain of Oregon; his mother, Carole Bradley of Hot Springs; his father and stepmother, Fredrick and Paulette Lobdell of Macon, North Carolina; his sister and brother-in-law, Cassandra and Stephen Patton of Royal; his nieces, Elysia and Emily Patton of Royal; his grandfather and step-grandmother, Charles and Shirley Pilger of Bonnerdale; his grandmother, Martha Lobdell of Cedar Mountain, North Carolina; his step-grandfather, Lowell Weaver of Burdett, New York; his uncles, Don Lobdell of Cedar Mountain, North Carolina, Craig Pilger of Ozark, Missouri, James Pilger of Minden, Louisiana and Charles St. Hill of San Diego, California; his aunts, Janine Beaulieau of Elmira, New York and Elizabeth Hoffman of Pine Plains, New York and seventeen cousins. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2005 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Clark officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
