Not sure what to say?

To Elizabeth, Mr. Oxnard's wife, his children, grandchildren, his siblings, Virginia, Robbie, and Henry, and all of the Oxnard family-

My mother, Elizabeth Downs Meyer, knew the Benjamin Oxnard, Sr. family many years ago and cared for their four adorable children. She left to get married, but often told me how much she had enjoyed her time with them, how much she loved them, and what a wonderful family they were--with high morals and highly respected.

Elizabeth,
I did not know Ben well, but knew so much about what he did in Savannah, particularly his support of the arts. Thank you for being such a giving couple and for making Savannah a better place to live. My prayers are with you.

Elizabeth and family,
We have fond memories of Ben and you Elizabeth of our meetings with ASA and appreciate Ben's contribution to the Sugar Industry. It was my pleasure to have him as a mentor in Sugar Trading while I was with Imperial Sugar. Our deepest prayers are lifted for your family.

ELIZABETH AND "LITTLE" BEN (AS HE WAS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN TO ALL OF US).
PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE SYMPATHY IN YOUR GREAT LOSS. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH MR. OXNARD FOR MANY YEARS AT THE SUGAR REFINERY AND HE HAD A KIND WORD AND SMILE FOR EVEYONE. HE WILL BE MISSED.

The City of Savannah has become a better place to live because of Ben's efforts.Ben shared his vision as well as his resources with excitement and determination.

Our prayers are with Ben and his family.

My condolences to you Elizabeth and the entire Oxnard family. I first met Ben in December of 1986 when Savannah Foods bought Colonial Sugars. I had the pleasure of working with Ben until his retirement in 2002. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. Every time he came to Louisiana, he would stop by to discuss business but mainly just to visit and talk. Your name, "Elizabeth" came up many, many times. I think it was his way of being with you when he was on the road. We will all miss...

Our deepest prayers and thoughts are with the Oxnards. We have lost true a gentlemen.

What a joy to have known you both in your 'true' environment - Pine Harbor. With roosters crowing, dogs barking, raccoons chirruping, pelicans clacking, eagles screaming and roaches rustling, Ben contentedly added to the cacaphony on his tractor! Come back to sit by the serene river, Elizabeth, and bring your thoughts and memories. Ben surrounds you here...

Sherry, Bill & critters

Elizabeth,
Thinking of you at this time and wishing for words to say the thoughts of sympathy we feel for you today.
Stay strong.
