Benjamin W. Rawlins Jr., 62, of Memphis, Tennessee, chairman and chief executive officer of Union Planters Corporation, died at his home on Tuesday, September 12, 2000. Visitation took place on Thursday, September 14, 2000, 6-9 p.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Services took place on Friday, September 15, 11 a.m., at Second Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Parkinson’s Association, 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Suite 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305-1946.
I remember Benjamin Rawlins from my
few years with Union Planters in
the late 70's. It is a positive
memory. Memorial Park was a good
choice. It will be nice to visit
the grotto and think of him.
