Teahen Funeral Home - Cedar Rapids Obituary

Benjamin James Reynolds, 31 of Cedar Rapids, died April 13, 2022 at his home. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.

Ben is survived by his family and many friends that loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandpa’s Romaine Orth, John Reynold and Ron Paulsen; and great uncles, Ric Sowers and Jeff Sowers.

Ben was born on March 24, 1991 in Waverly the son of Jim Reynolds and Jane Paulsen Gilbery.

Ben’s favorite thing to do was visit and help Grandma Sue Orth on her farm. Ben enjoyed going to Hy-Vee, driving around in the truck and going out to eat.  Anyone that knew Ben learned to appreciate the smaller things in life. He had a fantastic sense of humor and in spite of all of his medical challenges, he was always happy and never complained a day.  Ben taught us all many lessons in his short life and will be truly missed.

Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous in Ben’s name.

Not sure what to say?

Katie and her boys and grandma Sue I'm sending my deepest sympathy to you..I remember Ben when he lived in Waverly where I got to know Ben. He had a special place in my heart and so did all of you... thanks for letting me get to know Ben for who he was... thinking of all of you at this time.

Katie, Jeff, Adam, Cole and Liam- we are thinking of you guys and remembering all the great memories of Ben. He truly lit up the room with his smile and sass and will be greatly missed. He left this world too soon but what he gave and what he got made for a rich life. Take care and let us know if you need anything.

Sue, Jim and family,
I'm so so sorry for your loss. What a special guy Ben was. Sue always talked about him and you could tell how proud she was of him and how much she loved him just by her voice. I know this will leave a huge void in your lives, but God has a very special angel now to ride on your shoulders. Smile when you think of him as it appears he smiled a lot.
My sincere sympathy, God Bless you all.

Jim, Rosie and Jayne: it breaks my heart to know Ben's passing, he always had a smile, my deepest condolences to the entire family
Love from your friend
