Read MoreBen joined our first Rock and Roll band in the mid '70s in Wilmington. He was clearly the best musician. Later, in Durham NC after he had honed his jazz bass chops we were housemates. Ben was a working musician supporting the best players and singers in the area. It was only natural that he would migrate to NYC and continue his pursuits. He was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around.

I´m very sorry to hear of Ben´s passing. He was a bright spot for me during my early college years when I really needed some guidance. I still think of the laughs we had. Some years later, we reconnected and hung out a bit in New York. He was very supportive and always great to talk to. A real loss.
