Not sure what to say?

I just found Ben's Wind in the Rigging CD during a move, so I did a quick google search and learned of his passing. When I was in high school I met Ben on the Tole More, he was the person who inspired me to continue sailing. He is often in my thoughts and heart. I'm bereft to hear he is no longer with us, but thankful for the gift it was to meet him and hear his music.

I knew Ben in 2001 and 2002 as a student both at Toyon Bay and onboard the Tole Mour. I was unaware of his passing until now, but have thought of him often. I can honestly say he was one of the most influential people in my life. His love of the sea inspired me to join the Coast Guard and changed the entire trajectory of my life from there. I have sung his music often from the deck of a ship in the Arctic and hope that he can somehow know his music is carrying on. I am so very sorry to hear...

Dear Tassinari Family,
I am so incredibly sorry for this great loss to your family and to the community. Ben was a great person. I knew him from swimming lessons at Crellin park when I was young. And also I knew him from graduating with Cynthia. I am so sorry and you will be in my prayers. With love, the Teator family.

Dear Dr.Tassinari and family,

I am so very sorry for your loss and will keep each of you in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
I am sure that your precious memories of your son and brother will be a source of comfort through this difficult period. God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Maureen Shanahan

Dear Robin and family,
We are so sorry to read of the loss of your son... Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to you.
Respectfully,

Robin and Family
My sincerest condolences on the loss of your son and brother Ben- I am so so sorry. Please know you are all in my thoughts.

Dear Dr. Tassinari, how saddened I was at the loss of your son. Many, many times I ran into you at AMCH and you always asked about my son, all the time going through this ordeal. My prayers are with you and your wife and all those who loved Benjamin, of which there were many I am sure.

I met Ben in the fall of 2004 when I boarded the R/V Endeavor in Bergen, Norway for a two-week expedition across the Norwegian Sea. Ben was a delightful shipmate - fun, curious, always in the best of spirits, and he had one of the quickest wits. I made a point of getting his CD of sea chanty music before I disembarked in the Faroe Islands, and listened to it often. Ben will be missed by all that knew him, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Dear Dr. & Mrs. Tassari & Family,

I only recently met Ben and I have had him in my thoughts/prayers ever since. I sensed his wonderful spirit. Sometimes God only lends us the beautiful ones. I pray you will be comforted and sustained during this time of great loss.
